Sleep is not an action you perform; but rather, it is an animal you must convince that you are not interesting. To begin, take every thought out of your head and place it in a bowl. If one of them returns to you, tell it: "You are not the boss here." Then, lie perfectly still, as rigid as a government document; and whatever you do, do not move, for movement signals to the mind that you are available for work.
After that, count backwards from 900 using only the numbers you respect. Soon your brain will get tired and peaceful sleep will find you.
